Loc Starting~Styling~Maintenance
Locs also known as Dreadlocks are sections of hair matted together after a period of time. The hair is not combed, however, with regular and proper maintenance, the hair can be very strong, clean and healthy. Pure beeswax is NEVER used on clients & clients are cautioned against using products containing high levels of beeswax, mineral oil or petroleum as they cause damage to the integrity of the hair in the form of unwanted build-up and residue.
Locks are a permanent lifestyle choice for some and part of a spiritual growth and awakening for others. Whatever your reason for wanting or having locs is your own personal choice and finding a stylist that focuses on and specializes in the care and maintenance of natural hair should be your first choice. Be sure to ask as many questions and get as much information as you can during your consultation to ensure that locking your hair is the right choice for you!
Taking down locs for the purpose of pressing or relaxing the hair is not recommended, but it is not unheard of, several clients have reported that they underwent the arduous task of taking down their locs. Note: Many of them have regrets and revisit the process of locking their hair.
Locked hair can be styled in many ways. The service time varies for each client and depends largely on the amount of time it takes to shampoo, service and dry your hair prior to being styled.
Starter Locs two inches of unchemically altered hair is necessary to begin the locking process. The way that your locks are started will depend, in large part, on the length, texture and density of your hair. Includes consultation & initial scheduled follow-up visit $105
Loc Maintenance the hair is shampooed, conditioned, groomed and styled to neat perfection. Most clients seek to get their locs maintained every two weeks while others opt for up to four weeks. $75+
Loc Coloring adds vibrancy, life and style to your locs! A consultation and patch test is required prior to coloring your locs. $45+
